Skin is the largest organ of the human body. It is exposed to the elements of the outside world as it is our exterior layer.  The marks we each bare are our own topographical map.
The examination of my skin is one that happens daily. I have had medical professionals evaluate my skin since I was seven years old. Each offering up any possible fix for the incurable chronic condition I have been diagnosed with. The majority of my life has been plagued with trying to explain a condition I have never truly understood myself.
Skin Room requires you to enter inside my skin. There is intimacy that comes with being close and touching another person. The sense of touch for me is one that has been far more medical. The only way to describe the uncomfortable over stimulating sensations that I face daily is to immerse someone within it. I bring the outside of myself in, conducting you to look closer, becoming an examiner. You will be forced to try to place yourself within my own personal landscape.
It is an intimate experience of discomfort.
